April 13th: St. David’s [Caerfai Bay] to Solva! AN ADDER OR GRASS-SNAKE?

A ‘rest and relaxing day’ with a short walk! Convinced I’d photographed an adder, I was corrected by a young lad, Frankie’ who quickly identified the snake as a grass-snake. We met many walkers enjoying a sunny warm morning that clouded and chilled a little as the afternoon progressed. Thoroughly enjoyed St David’s, particularly the beautiful cathedral and its grounds.
WALK SCHEDULE [tentative]:
Monday we will be walking Trefin to Whitesands
Tuesday, Whitesands to Caerfai
Wednesday, Strumble Head to Trefin.

Once again, thanks for the photos. What an excellent job you’re doing for the Wales Tourist Board!! Sorry to say that I believe young Frankie is sadly wrong. I’m confident it was and adder that you saw, basking in the spring sunshine. The zigzag markings down the back are a positive means of identification. Huw T.
