April 16th: Strumble Head to Trefin…A tough hike in high winds.

A tough hike in high winds. The first part of this 12 mile walk was through some rough and steep climbs in rugged country. As we got closer to places where visitors could access beaches and the path, we began to meet some vacationers on the trails. We met one family from Brynamman, Betsy, Helen, Rhydian and Dafydd the dog, and then walked with a group of hikers from North Wales – John, Cynfael, Noel and Garyn, to Trefin. We then drove to Porthgain where we enjoyed a pint and a meal!

  1. The pale yellow flowers with the primrose type leaf are cowslips. You can make a wine from them but they are not too plentiful these days. I think they are protected flowers in England now.
