March 10: Ogmore to Porthcawl!

March 10th: We’re off!  Walked from Ogmore to Porthcawl Grand Pavillion today! Some beautiful sights on another glorious, sunny day!

On another note: Oscar was given a ride to town by a friendly police officer around mid-day…probably because he was walking to town on the grassy median of a dual-carriageway!

So you’re staying at the “White Wheat”. I wonder if they took the name from the Welsh Folk Song, “Bugeilio’r Gwenith Gwyn” – Watching (Caring for) the White Wheat. You’ll find it on YouTube. It’s a beautiful love song associated with Llangynwyd, near Maesteg. Sorry not to be able to catch up with you en route, but am following you via your daily blog. Huw T.

Great pictures, hope Oscar has been released from police custody! You both seem to be doing well, fortunately the weather is on your side. Let us know where you hope to be on Sunday, 23rd March, the only day James can do and we perhaps could join you for a short while. Many thanks for my birthday card, not sure I want to be reminded!!
Best wishes to you all xx
