NAFOW Calgary 2016

March 7th: Rumney – Cardiff – Penarth [about 12 miles]

Here are some of the photos we took today. Signs of spring are everywhere. Daffodils are blooming, birds are very active and this flowering tree caught our attention. Can anyone identify it? We did cross the weak bridge twice [as we took the wrong turning]! The most challenging part of the day came when we waited to catch the train in Barry! The signal system had gone haywire and trains were expected to run hours late. Fortunately, Bob and Alun came to the rescue and picked us up! Thanks to both of you and cousin, Dilwyn!

      Hi Brian
We are just getting an idea of the progress we can make walking the coastal path. It’s still a little difficult to forecast progress accurately. What about planning to get together when we are on the Gower? I’ll keep things updated on our website.
      Thanks for your support..David

The tree is a type of prunus, similar to an almond or cherry tree. Enjoying your blog, hope to meet up when you are on the Gower. How are you all feeling so far, the forecast is good for next week.
