NAFOW Calgary 2016

May 14th: Porth Dafarch to Penrhos Park, Holyhead [about 12 miles] GREAT CLIFF WALK, MYNYDD TWR, PLEASE HELP IDENTIFY….

Surprised to read Fenton’s beautiful poem on a plaque on the seawall – it set the tone for the day! Super cliff vistas with dramatic colors. Met Suzanne Iuppa at RSPB Visitors Centre near the South Stack, a friend who has helped us tremendously during our walk. Also met other RSPB staff, Mark and Amy. Quite a few visitors/walkers were viewing the dramatic South Stack lighthouse. Saw a few choughs. Oscar who joined us at the Centre saw a couple of puffins. Great views of Anglesey from Mynydd Twr. Could see the Lleyn clearly, even Bardsey Island! We need your help in identifying some flowers and some buildings/ruins that we saw…One of the warmest and most interesting days…

  1. #1 Not too clear a picture – cornflower I think unless it’s Scabious.
    #2 Kidney Vetch ( lady’s Fingers)
    #3 Sowthistle?
    #4 Birdsfoot Trefoil ( Bacon & Eggs)
    #5 May be Lousewort
    #6 Meadow Orchid
    #7 Common Vetch

Difficult to ID sometimes. I need to be there!!!
