NAFOW Calgary 2016

May 17th: Porth Penrhyn-mawr to Cemlyn Bay [about 11 miles] SOME BEAUTIFUL SCENERY ON A SUNNY DAY!

Started early but some really wet grass soaked through Mona’s boots and we had to stop off at our campground [4 miles into the walk] to get them changed! Both of us have top of the line ‘waterproof’ hiking boots that have developed leaks recently! Weekend ferry traffic between Holyhead and Ireland seems to be very busy with some incoming ferries having to wait in a ‘holding pattern’! A beautiful walk on a sunny day took us walking along high cliffs between Church Bay and Carmel Head. Saw a variety of wildlife, seal, choughs, common and arctic terns, gulls, oyster catchers, geese, ducks etc. Tomorrow: Cemlyn Bay to Bull Bay [Porthllechog].
