May 6th: Abergwyngregyn to Menai Bridge [town]- about 10 miles SPRING: SUCH A BEAUTIFUL TIME OF THE YEAR – “It just goes too fast!” – Bill

An early morning start from the car park on the path near Abergwyngregyn…it was a journey through springtime greenness helped by the brightness of the sun. Some of the lanes we walked between Aber-Ogwen and Bryn, and along the Dyffryn Cegin Valley were spectacular. We were impressed with the Bangor coastal walk where we met 82 year-old Bill who power-walks about 6 miles a day and who proves that walking makes you younger!! It was great to cross the Menai Bridge just to put our feet on Ynys Mon – the Isle of Mon. A great day!
[Abergwyngregyn is a settlement of great antiquity and pre-conquest importance. This was the seat of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, the last native Prince of Wales. Source: Wikipedia]

Continuing to enjoy your beautiful pictures, sorry we cannot identify the flowers! The weather looks nice and sunny, the same here but rain forecast, hope it does’nt affect you too much.
    Love to all xx

  2. The first pink flower is a Rhododendron, it’s just a low form, they can be huge bushes. The second is the pink form of the Horse Chestnut (also white). In the Autumn this produces “conkers”. David will know. Love the bluebell woods, the ancient stone circle and of course the blackbird. That’s a song I love. One used to sing outside my bedroom when I was little so it always reminds me of light summer evenings in Britain.Love Anne
