May 8th: ‘Backtracked’ from Llyn Rhos-Ddu [Pen-lon] to Menai Town bridge [about 13 miles] VIBRANT COLOURS ON A WET AND WILD GARLIC DAY!
It was wet but things were so alive…glimpses of past glory and change – mansions, cottages, farms… the songs of birds, even a peacock screeching and strutting in one yard…a different view of yesterday’s walk from the Telford bridge to Caernarvon…
Oh, and last night, Mona, Oscar and I, accompanied by Eleri from Macmillan Cancer support had the pleasure of listening to a rehearsal of Cor Meibion Colwyn. Thank you for a wonderful evening and for your support CMC!
Changed our base camp today…now staying with friends Ed and Margaret near Hermon. Ed has been very active with the Anglesey Coastal Path since 2005 being one of the inaugural founding members. He continues to monitor a section of the path
Tomorrow we will be walking from Llyn Rhos-Ddu for 8 or 9 miles – start 10:30 am.
